Sunset Hill Manor held Sunday worship led by Rev Button of Poca hontas with several assistants. New resident Mollie Mishler joined, and a January staff meeting chaired by Mary Hayings drew twenty one attendees. A fire drill occurred and residents watched the film Ghosts on the Loose.
Relatives and friends gathered for Chester Hansen's funeral with attendees from Illinois Wisconsin Minnesota Iowa Missouri and Nebraska. The report lists numerous names and hometowns and notes social visits and concerts in Fort Dodge Muscatine Gilmore City Lakota Badger Spencer Estherville and nearby towns. P.E.O. Chapter FR met January 25 at Ferne Thorson for a Founders Day luncheon with hostesses Judy Shelgren Pat Olerich Bert Brinkman and Carol Mefferd. The Bridgettes Club gathered January 27 at Evelyn Kaiser for dessert bridge with prizes awarded to Calligan Anderson Neugent. Becky Kollasch was feted at a January 30 shower at Sacred Heart parish hall Ledyard with family and church women in attendance. DAR Betty Alden Chapter met January 13 at Frances Smith Rolfe. Justamere Club met January 31 at Evelyn Kaiser for bridge. St Pauls Lutheran Womans circles met January 26 with Bible studies and hostesses across multiple circles.
Miss Inga Ryen is admitted to Pocahontas Community Hospital on Thursday. Anna Wessels is a patient at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Mrs Kenneth Zeman is a surgical patient at Humboldt Hospital on Tuesday. Shelby Johnson, 10, son of Mr and Mrs Phil Johnson, is a patient at Humboldt Memorial Hospital after an appendectomy Monday evening.
Nellie Brinkman marked her 95th birthday Sunday January 30 at her Rolfe farm home. Family members from Rolfe Fort Dodge Ames Humboldt and Cardiff by the Sea gathered for tea served by Mrs. David Brinkman and Mrs. Zola Brinkman. Cards and calls came from Stella Mae Butterworth Mary Beth Walker Diedreich Tietze and others.
Karen Brinkman fiance Tom Vinson will be feted at an Open House Shower Sunday February 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church social rooms A program is scheduled for 3 00 p.m Note change in date and venue as announced by Powers Funeral Home.
