The Rolfe Iowa council moves to establish Sewer District No 1 extending from the C N W railway to Pilot Creek bluffs. Plans call for a disposal plant funded by general taxation and mains assessed to benefited property. a public hearing is set for February 16 at 1 P M. Citizens are urged to attend and voice approval or objections.
Mrs. J B Shepard of Rolfe Iowa died Friday January 26 at 3 30 pm after a week with pneumonia. Born Josephine Olivia Shaw September 12 1848 in Danville Illinois she lived in Iowa from age twelve and married J B Shepard November 20 1880. She and her husband moved to Rolfe in 1913 and she was active in church and community life. Funeral services were held at the residence and interment followed at the old Mitchelville home site.
The Twigg Edge case ended without verdict as jurors disagreed after a mis trial. Henry Twigg of Plover previously involved in a minor collision with Joseph Edge of Humboldt while driving slowly through Humboldt. Twigg was exonerated previously, with Edge described as bewildered and Twigg unable to dodge.
Julius Alberts died January 20 1417 at his home five miles southeast of Pocahontas after a two week illness. Born June 1 1833 in Slaten Germany he was eighty three years seven months and nineteen days old. He married Augusta Wilhemina Cross August 15 1857 and moved from Wisconsin to Pocahontas County Iowa in 1879. Survived by wife two sons and two daughters Otto Alberts John Alberts Mary Bobel and Minnie Jarvis. Funeral services were held January 22 at the German Lutheran church Pocahontas followed by interment at Summit Hill Cemetery.

Miss Bessie Forey youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs H Forey of Lake township married Miley Mahan of Emmetsburg at St Josephs Catholic church in Palmer on January 22 1917 with Rev H J Neppel officiating. The couple will begin a life together and are wished happiness and blessedness.
