County Contests Highlight Area Talent And Travel
Helen Cleaver visited Emmetsburg Thursday. Glyde Brinkman hauled cattle to Chicago and returned to Rolfe Tuesday. Local golfers enjoyed a windy week with solid scores. Eugene Clark Ivyl Grant and Marion Hollis spoke at the Fonda declamatory contest where Hollis won first in class and overall, earning the County Cup. Miss Fae Squires, wartime nurse and graduate, visited home before leaving for California with her parents after the new year.
