Stay Out Of Politics Or Lose Your Conscience
In a Christmas season reflection the article argues Christianity should guide public life over politics calling party loyalty a potential trap. It cites Luke 12 6 about sparrows to warn that no creature is forgotten by God and urges choosing principled leaders over party demands. A separate note recalls a 13 year old killed while coasting on a Shenandoah street urging parental vigilance. The piece ends with a caution about wallowing in hog yards and the folly of public excess.

One House Legislature: Priebe Urges Different Path
Frank Priebe argues in favor of experimental reforms in government and poultry farming. He questions a two house legislature and suggests one house could work with smaller membership and better pay. He cites training needs and warns about dead timber in assemblies. He extols diversified farming and outsized returns from off season production. He ends with a note from the Arrow-NOW and a classified sale in Rock Island.
