Thanksgiving News and Farm Loans At Pocahontas County
The Plover Patriot reports numerous Thanksgiving visits across Laurens De corah and Clear Lake with families gathering at Buck Heathman Pollock and Shaw homes. A county meeting led by C R Bowers of Pocahontas explained government loans of 45 cents per bushel on sealed corn and a 20 percent corn acre reduction for 1932 1933, plus hog adjustments and farm incentives. A five member county committee and township boards were formed to oversee sealers and compliance.
