Pocahontas County Considers New Zoning Districts
Neighbors draft a county zoning ordinance to guide non agricultural land uses while preserving agricultural resources. Five districts proposed Agricultural Suburban Residential Rural Commercial Highway Commercial and Industrial. Public hearing set December 5 with copies in the County Auditor’s office. The Board of Supervisors will hold a second hearing before action.

Drieth Family Settles on Maude Ives Farm South of Rolfe
The Drieth family Ron and Joan with their son Brian 3 relocate to Rolfe living on the Maude Ives farm south of town. Ron comes from Bartlesville Oklahoma where he was assistant superintendent at the Tri-County Area Voc-Tech School. Joan Cleal Drieth returns to her home area and adapts to winter conditions.

Public zoning hearing set for Pocahontas County
Emery Wenell of Laurens, chair of the Pocahontas County Planning and Zoning Commission, announced a public hearing Monday December 5 at 7 30 p m in the County Courthouse. The hearing seeks citizen views on a proposed zoning ordinance for the unincorporated Pocahontas County area under Chapter 358A.
