Rolfe council approves final tax estimate totals
The Rolfe Iowa town council read public notices in the Rolfe Arrow and, after hearings, adopted the final budget estimate totaling 2072.18 mills with General 345.3, Street 845.3, Public Safety 576.5, Sanitation 115.1, Municipal Enterprise 115.1, and Utility 576.5. All five council members voted in favor with no nays and the meeting adjourned.

Two Local Graduates Accepted to State Teachers College
Barbara Fisher daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Fisher has been accepted to Iowa State Teachers College Cedar Falls for fall enrollment. Valedictorian of her DMT class she was in the chorus and band. Notice Proposed Road Vacation in Garfield Township
The county commissioner favors vacating a road from the northwest corner of Section 30 to the northeast corner, passing through listed properties. Objections or damage claims must be filed in the Auditor's Office by noon September 15, 1953, or the road will be vacated without further reference. Leroy Moomey, 102, died July 22 in Kalona, one of Town's oldest residents.
