Boy Scouts Attend Prairie Gold Camp Near Okoboji
Rolfe Boy Scouts led by Scoutmaster Harold Lawton spend a week at Prairie Gold Camp 185 acres near Okoboji. July 29 to August 4 saw Joseph Reckard and John Weible among attendees. others reserved but stayed home to help with detasseling. Scouts enjoyed archery skeet shooting bait casting and lessons on outdoor skills including signals knives axes camps and campfire ceremonies with Brave degrees. Regular meetings resume August 10 and Harold Calligan plans further activities to advance scouts toward earning their badges.

Teenager Severs Wrist in Tree Fall Rescue
Joe Triplett a 16 year old boy suffered a broken left wrist and cerebral concussion after falling 20 feet from a tree while trimming a limb. He received emergency care at Mercy hospital where the wrist was set and his condition was listed as good Tuesday evening.

Funeral Rites Lat for Brother Of Fay Wax
Funeral services were held at J. Lilly Funeral Home Des Moines for Ray Wax a longtime Des Moines resident. Interment was Glendale cemetery. He was born August 25 1894 at Knowlton Iowa later moved to Curlew Rutland and Humboldt County. He became a barber later owning shops in Des Moines Beaverdale Grimes and Forrest Ave Des Moines. He married Guelda Stall in 1938 and died July 23 heart attack at 1418 24th Street Des Moines. Survived by his wife and a brother Fay Wax of Rolfe.
