Biddy Look Also Best Bet For Farmers Says Iowa Expert
W D Termoblen extension poultry and egg marketing expert at Iowa State College says eggs and poultry occupy a favorable position among farm products due to production costs and profits. A March 1 1931 corn egg ratio shows eggs strong relative to beef cattle and butter, with 2.9 dozen eggs per bushel of corn. The Iowa crop report notes 97 percent as many hens as 1926–29 and egg production at 99 percent, with a rise in production in winter. Termoblen cautions farmers to maintain production and avoid overextending chick-rearing capacity.
