Jane and Jon Jordan, son and daughter of Rolfe and Atlantic families, led male and female roles in The Three Penny Opera staged by Luther College's Luther Speech Department. Both seniors plan acting careers with Jane set for Philadelphia and Jon headed to California after graduation.
How Times Have Changed Peggy Kemna recalled life in Betsy Ross era during St. Margaret's Rosary Society guest day luncheon. Tables featured Bicentennial red white and blue decor with Uncle Sam figurines. Door prizes went to Mary Hoyer Humboldt Maudelle Arnold Havelock and John Tiernan Rolfe.
Sunset Hill Manor residents held Easter services led by Rev. Bintz on Sunday afternoon with Mrs. R D Dixon at the piano. An Easter Egg Hunt and Bingo followed Friday afternoon with residents and out of town visitors noted including Max Wilcox Leone Kauffman and Dorsey Sanders.
A community shower is announced for Susan Marine of Omaha on Saturday April 24 at 8 p.m. in the Pocahontas Methodist Church parlors. Susan, daughter of Vernon and the late Mrs Marine, will wed Loren Grashon. relatives and friends are invited.
An open house honors Mr and Mrs Eugene Bundy on their 30th wedding anniversary. It will be held Sunday April 25 from 2 to 4 30 pm in the Union Trust party room Crossroads Shopping Center Fort Dodge Iowa. Hosted by their children Dean Bundy M D and Mardene Bundy of Fort Dodge and Brent Kopriva and wife of Gilmore City. Relatives are invited and no formal invitations were sent.
Pink Ladies will meet Friday April 23 at 2 00 p m at Sut Senior Citizens group will have event at noon at Chamber of Commerce. Auxiliary Past Presidents meet Tuesday April 27 at 7 30 p m at Mrs Anna McIntire s home. Social Security representative at the Courthouse in Pocahontas Tuesday April 27 from 9 30 a m to 12 00 noon.
Mrs. George Lanus is a patient at Trinity Regional Hospital Fort Dodge. Mrs. Laura Anderson was discharged Monday from Humboldt Hospital after surgery last Thursday. Mrs. Muriel Spencer has returned from Herman Dietrich home in Manson where she convalesced after release from Trinity Regional Hospital. Joe Hudek is a patient at Pocahontas Community Hospital admitted Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Bill Bennett is a surgical patient at Trinity Regional Hospital Fort Dodge. A community fundraiser banquet hosted by Powers Funeral Home for a mother and daughter event is set for April 28 at 6 30 PM in Rolfe at the Presbyterian Church. Tickets cost 2 00 and are sold at Wood s Family Store Bonnie Wolfe Insurance Agency and through group chairmen. Tickets should be purchased in advance.
