Weather turns cold with hard freeze
Forty years ago a cold night froze hard enough to hold up an elephant. The thermometer showed fifteen above, though Bob Roy says it felt colder. Miss Freda Thorson left Algona for Mankato Minnesota to enter Mankato Commercial College for a dual Ness course. Miy and Mrs L D Smith with daughter Juanita and Miss Cora Lind spent days in Des Moines earlier this week. Mr Smith and Miss Cora attended the Carson Pirie Scott dry goods exhibit and did some buying for the store. Geo Heathman is driving a new Chevrolet and plans to drive it when the snowing stops.
