Mrs. Anna Lansing was surprised on her birthday by relatives from out of town and friends. The gathering at Bode included Lansing's daughter and stepmother with cards, gifts, and lunch. Miss Arlis Hanan of Forest City received a bridal shower in Cylinder with bingo, gifts, and yellow lavender decor. her wedding to Ervin Kipfer is set for summer. Rolfe Progressive Club hosted a May breakfast with a spring décor and a focus on mothers who helped build America. Presbyterian Women met in two groups April 25 to discuss Christian Living Family Style with linen projects and lunch.
