Local residents report visitors and calls at multiple homes near Plover and surrounding towns. Community updates include weddings, illnesses, road conditions, farm union events, and an Armenian relief address to be given at the Methodist church.
P. H. S. Musickers from Plover High School excelled at the Rolfe state sub-district contest, securing eleven firsts and six seconds in twenty-one events. First-place winners advance to the state district contest in Maxon City, while the county music contest is set for Pocahontas next weekend.
A party for children up to 16 whose parents are eligible for American Legion or Auxiliary membership will be held at the school gymnasium on Saturday April 9 at 2 30 p.m. All eligible children are expected to attend.
Mr and Mrs Elmer Heathman who have lived here this past year moved their household goods to Fonda last week. Friends staged a surprise farewell gathering with refreshments as they packed, sending best wishes for success in their new home.

A G Obrecht former Havelock resident was killed about 11 p m Saturday when his car was struck by an east bound Milwaukee stock train on a crossing eight miles west of Emmetsburg. He was en route from Spencer to Plover to visit his wife. Funeral services were held in Spencer with burial in Washington Cemetery near Havelock.
