Organizing Meeting Formed D M T Historical Society
At a recent County Historical Society session Mrs Clarence Jensen and Arthur Vaughn were chosen as directors for D M T. A Clarence Jensen home gathering organized the township with Wade DeMill as president Ee Lehnus as vice president William Fisher as secretary treasurer Mrs Art Vaughn curator and several others as directors. A lunch of sandwiches doughnuts and coffee was served.
West Bend school notes highlight student contests and events
Des Moines township student Shirley Fisher earned second in spelling and third in writing at Pocahontas meets. Banquet for West Bend girls basketball champions on April 3 hosted by Greater West Bend club. Home economics classes hosted meals and tours to Rolfe stores, Central States building, Peters market, Webb's drug store, and Lime Locker. Fourth graders toured Rolfe March 21 visiting post office, dairy, creamery, and Sime's locker with Loren Pease providing bus transport.
