Dora Berniece Simonson 73 lifelong Rolfe resident died Saturday March 30 1986 at Pocahontas Community Hospital after three weeks illness. Funeral April 3 at St Pauls Lutheran Church Rolfe with Rev G H Brase officiating burial Clinton Garfield Cemetery. She joined Trinity then St Pauls Lutheran, active in Legion Auxiliary and American Home Study Club. She was born November 20 1894 north of Rolfe, resided here most of life, survived by sister Mrs Mare Halvorson Lauraine Minn brother Roy Rolfe four sisters-in-law many nieces nephews and neighbors. She never married and was cared for by family and friends.

Buick convertible crash on Highway 44 near Rolfe injures family
Last Saturday around 11 00 a m a Buick convertible traveling north toward Rolfe failed to negotiate the curve at the west end of Rolfe on Highway 44. It veered into the north ditch near Ray Isacson property injuring three people two children and Mrs Ralph Johnson with a broken thigh. They were treated first by Rolfe ambulance and moved to a Council Bluffs hospital. The Johnson car sustained about 400 dollars in front end damage. Rolfe officer Vernon Marine and Iowa Highway Patrolman Jon O'Sell investigated.
