The Renwick Federated Women’s Clubs event and district activities are noted with Mrs. Alice Zeman receiving blue ribbon awards for legislative work. Numerous social visits include Bradgate, Humboldt, Rolfe, Fort Dodge, Swea City, Eagle Grove, and Ames connections. Military private Eugene Miller finishes leave then reports to Camp Carson.
Reports from Fort Dodge and nearby towns recount several injury updates. Larry Hildman returned home after jaw surgery from a car crash two weeks prior, and Gene Shiflett also came home though largely bedridden with limited daily activity. Other hospitalized victims include Mr. and Mrs. L. Chris Madsen of Livermore with Mrs. Madsen undergoing facial and head surgery in Iowa City, while Mr. Madsen faces months of leg traction. Two separated brothers, Carl McSpadden of Hamburg and Walter from Junction City, Oregon, visited after 28 years apart, with two more brothers to join. Clifford Hoaglin of Hillsboro lost part of his left arm, amputated above the wrist. A 63-year-old Algona resident, Howard Klinker, was injured when strong winds blew him from a second-story door onto the ground, causing a deep chin injury.
The community notes numerous family visits and moved residents including the Bob Koenig family relocating to Grant Street and Sam Nicoson namesake area. Several members travel to Santa Ana California and Cherokee while Supt Don Henderson shifts to Lake City Public Schools. Fire damage at a Bedford farm burns over 100 acres.
An old notice lists medical practitioners including Dr. F. H. Molyneux dentist at a residence diagonally from the Methodist Church and Dr. H. G. Frigaard chiropractor offering X ray service.
