The Roland Canning Factory Co held its fifth annual meeting at the opera house with a large attendance. Directors named were A. H. Lura M. O. Anderson and B. W. Kimble replacing O. J. Jacobson who resigned. Sec K. G. Schlanbusch treasurer OS Boyd auditor W. T. Wierson. The plant has been idle due to losses from sour corn in the 1908 crop and uncertainty over selling the 4908 crop. A committee was formed to secure new contracts and possibly sell or reoperate the factory, with talk of forming a stock company of local capitalists to buy and run it.

Funeral of Chicago Man John Tunis
The funeral of John Tunis of Chicago, who died January 20 1910, was held at the W T Wierson residence east of town last Tuesday afternoon. The body was then buried in Roland cemetery. Rev G Smedal of Bergen Congregation led the rites. Tunis, nearly 78, died of cerebral hemorrhage and leaves a wife without children. He had no local relatives, but his wife is sister to Mrs Marie Sheldahl and Mrs W T Wierson grew up in their home. Mrs Tunis plans to remain here indefinitely.
