Death of Bonnie Darlene Mickelson at age five
Relatives report the death of Bonnie Darlene Mickelson five of Newell South Dakota due to a ruptured appendix. Burial is planned in Kanawha. She leaves her parents a sister two months old and a former surname of Alice Munson sister of Mrs Olig Tweet of this place. The Mickelsons also lost a child last year to pneumonia.

Multiple local accidents injure several residents this week
A series of accidents in the vicinity left several people injured. Mrs. Holm, 72, fractured a wrist and suffered a deep forehead cut after a porch fall. Florence Jacobson broke a bone in her left leg below the knee leaping from a car. Miss Myrtie Anderson escaped with minor bruises. Two cars collided on Main Street causing property damage but no injuries. Otis Hereim was trapped under a tractor but released when a loose wire shifted gear and freed him.

Ninety Year Old Nels Norem Receives Birthday Tribute
Friends and relatives gathered near McCalisburg on Nels Norem s ninetieth birthday. Rev M C Sumstad presented a purse of 51 dollars from Roland and local supporters, and Norem expressed gratitude. He remains sharp, active, and often visits Roland and nearby towns. He once lived in Roland as a mason and well digger and built the first east town house on a hill now occupied by Mrs Olena Larson.

Ericson Opens Electric Shop in Woodmen Hall Building
L A Ericson has leased ground floor space in Woodmen Hall to start Ericson Electric Shop. He leaves Donhowe Motor Company after ten years in garage work, eight and a half in Roland, to run a shop offering electrical goods and repair service. The building is owned by Bricson Lumber and formerly housed a meat market run by O M Anenson who is opening a service station after closing the market.
