Twelfth Annual Fair and Watermelon Day at Rocky Ford
The Rocky Ford fair week of 1905 set new records with watermelons drawing crowds. The Rest Room by the Presbyterian church aided hundreds of weary visitors. gate receipts topped prior years, and exhibitors showcased livestock, grain, fruit, and fine arts. Organizers praised outcomes and planned future improvements as crowds from Pueblo, La Junta, and other towns filled grandstands and streets.
