The State Bank of Rocky Ford renews its charter after twenty years. The bank, organized June 25 1887, shows growth from deposits of 8458.08 in 1888 to 510703.07 in 1907. Paul Hartley of Rocky Ford is appointed deputy state bank examiner by Governor Buchtel.

Judge Lucius B. Gibson, a longtime Pueblo resident and early Arkansas Valley pioneer, died suddenly in Pueblo after years of illness. He served as district attorney and county judge and was repeatedly active in local politics. His death followed injuries from a 2 year old assault in his law office by an escaped convict.

In Rocky Ford at A R McCoy’s home Clara Marie McCoy wed E Merle Zimmerman of Van Wert Ohio on June 20. They plan a bridal tour through the Rocky Mountain towns and Denver before settling in Ohio. Knights of Columbus from Rocky Ford attended initiation ceremonies in La Junta with a banquet and music by Wonderly’s orchestra. The Rocky Ford group returned home around 4 a.m. Monday.
