Washington June 4 The Senate completed the filled cheese measure after a House pass. The bill defines filled cheese as any product made from milk or skim milk with added fats oils or other non dairy substances in imitation of cheese. Taxes apply to manufacturers wholesale and retail dealers per year per pound and for imported filled cheese. Packages must bear a bold filled cheese mark and retailers must display a conspicuous sign. Debates on battleship numbers and sectarian school amendments were rejected.

Cripple Creek Colorado June 6 two masked men entered the post office but were discovered by Frank Braceland a delivery clerk who slept there. They forced a delivery window opened a registered mail box and two letters were torn before their escape. About 600 to 700 dollars was taken. Police arrested two men named Bob Taylor and George W Whitney Whitney said he arrived from Colorado Springs. Braceland identified Bob Taylor as the revolver bearer.
The New York Financier reports a weekly interior cash inflow of about 3 million dollars while treasury disbursements remain heavy. Funds accumulate in New York as government deposits ease into the treasury, lending activity brightens in a dull period. Bank loans rose 31 million in four months, excess reserves fell by about 22 million, with bond operations driving much of the change.
