Colorado Delegates Rally for Bryan in Lincoln

Colorado delegates arrived in Lincoln at 8:35 am for the Democratic convention, greeted by Bryan supporters. The Denver group marched to the Bryan cottage, extended greetings to Mr and Mrs Bryan, and pledged ongoing support as Colorado’s Bryan club praised his leadership and Democratic aims. The delegation toured Lincoln, serenaded papers, and departed for Kansas City at 11:15 am.

Emperor William Demands Satisfaction for Baron Von Ketteler Death

Berlin July 2 Emperor William resolved to insist on full satisfaction for the death of Baron Von Ketteler and to deploy armed forces nearly equal to those of other powers seeking to restore order in China. Minister Lu Hai Houn, while sorry for the Pekin bloodshed, believed the Dowager Empress innocent and urged subduing the revolt and a new government.
