The Goth regiment of Indiana volunteer infantry held a June reunion at Rockport fairgrounds with 36 regimental comrades and 125 from other units. A drum corps played war-time airs as officers were elected and plans set for next meeting at Fort Branch on September 22, 1919. A letter from J W Admire of Enid Ok read, expressing regret at absence and reflecting on aging veterans and the war’s cost.

Boy Dies After Accidental Shooting at Home
James Harris accidentally shot his five year old son while handling a shotgun to shoot a hawk at their home one mile east of Newtonville. The boy was seated in the doorway when the gun discharged tearing away his lower jaw. Funeral held Monday at M E church in Newtonville.
