Soldiers Have Big Day at Richland City Reunion

A large turnout marked the Richland City soldiers reunion with 131 veterans listed by name. The event featured a two thousand strong crowd, a hearty dinner, and speeches by Rev. J M Gayer and Rev John W Bunner, while Judge Rosco Kiper and Col F B Posey were absent.

Attorney Struck In Court By Contempt Defendant

In a circuit court room Tuesday morning John Bentley attacked Attorney W. M. Smith after a contempt charge related to unpaid alimony to Nettie Bentley. U N Salvage tackled Bentley. Sheriff Kramer jailed him after a $100 fine and three months detention.

Eigenmann Not Arrested In False Pretense Case

Requisition papers from Illinois Gov Dunne asked Iowa for the return of W P Eigenmann on a false pretense charge in Freeport. Iowa’s governor investigated a Freeport ice company bookkeeper’s statement and found the money Eigenmann was accused of receiving was used by the company. He refused extradition.
