In Montgomery county a three year licensed teacher contracted for the year, then showed dangerous TB form and patrons demanded removal while the teacher sought pay.

John Riehl 86 Died in Troy After Illness

John Riehl aged eighty six died at his home in Troy last Friday October 8 after two months of general debility. He leaves four sons and four daughters including Mrs. Joseph Cowen near Rockport and George Riehl ex trustee of Huff township. Funeral was held Saturday at St. Pius church in Troy.

Assault and Battery Verdict In Local Court

Culmer Cissna was tried on an assault and battery charge by a jury in Esq Brown's court Tuesday afternoon. He was found guilty and fined 1 dollar plus costs totaling about 60 dollars. Cissna's attorney appealed to the circuit court. S. M. Savage, deputy prosecuting attorney, prosecuted the case in what was his first prosecution and he won.

Big tobacco trade eyed for pooled burley in Indiana

Representatives of American Tobacco Co and Indiana Board of Control discuss a potential sale of about 500000 pounds of pooled burley. If samples meet expectations, a contract similar to Kentucky burley terms may be signed with prices from 14 down to 6 per hundred pounds for the grades. Most tobacco would be delivered in Rockport.
