Soldier Reunion Draws Hundreds and Plans Next at Chrisney

Indiana conference of United Brethren held at Washington

The 79th Indiana conference met in Washington last week with a strong session and several young men joining the conference. Most pastors were retained. Rev. M. C. Patterson of Grandview moved to Mauckport, and Rev. L. F. Taylor took Grandview. No license granted. Carter township liquor case by Anton Gogel proceeded with witnesses. Gogel withdrew Saturday after remonstrants showed a majority of township voters.

Championship Series Set Between Huntingburg Babies and Rockport

The Huntingburg Babies and Rockport-Evansville Olympic team will clash next Sunday to decide their two games to one lead series. First game at 1 00 pm and second at 2 30 pm with the winner earning the championship palm. A separate game features the American Boys against a second picked team. A Rockport baseball company seek $600 capital to organize for next season.

The will of the late Joseph Fieth of Harrison township probate grants all real and personal property to widow Katherine Fieth subject to a life estate and a $5 bequest to each of the deceased's children. The will is dated December 28, 15893.

Judgments Settled In Eigenmann Disputes

Judgments obtained in the courts and all suits against the late John G Eigenmann and Louis P Eigenmann have been compromised. L P Eigenmann paid 12000 to effect the settlement. The Hvansville plant was sold to Jacob Keickel for 37000, with 12000 to satisfy claims and 25000 to be paid cash Nov 20. Weiss receives stock in the Eigenmann companies and interests in the Third Street house and store now in receivership.

Accident Averted Near Owensboro Gas Boat

The Harry Lee, a small gasoline launch from Owensboro, narrowly avoided a collision with the Messenger on Tuesday night. With no lights and engines failing, the boat lay in the Messenger’s path until screams prompted action. The Harry Lee was lashed to the Messenger and towed to Owensboro.
