Runaway Involving J H Logan Near Ehrman Farm

J H Logan escaped serious harm after his buggy overturned when his horse bolted at an automobile driven by Bernard Wohler of Grandview. The horse collided with a wire fence, Buggy damaged, Logan bruised but released and quickly on his feet. Wohler freed him from beneath the wreck.

Judge R. E. Roberts will travel to Coryden next Monday to hear a contested will case in Harrison county circuit court. The hearing will determine the validity of the will and settle disputes among heirs.

Petition for Rail Road Election Filed

A petition from Harrison township citizens seeks an $8000 donation to the Vincennes Southeastern interurban for an electric rail line from Vincennes to Tell City passing through Knox Dubois and Spencer counties. Lightning hits farm barn and nearby home in San Dale area

A Sunday evening thunderstorm struck the Lane B. Osborn farm at San Dale junction, burning the barn and destroying farming equipment, hay, barley, and chickens valued around $600 with $200 insured. A nearby Jim Gentry residence also suffered minor fire and window damage after a bolt hit the front gable and an upstairs room.

Tobacco growers meet in Owensboro on pooled Spencer County farm acres

John J. Brown and George L. Parker attended a Green River Tobacco Growers Association meeting in Owensboro representing Spencer County. They reported 1,921 acres of tobacco in Spencer County pooled with the Green River association. Kentucky counties in the group total about 20,000 pooled acres. Pooled tobacco from Spencer County is planned for delivery at Rockport.

County Board of Education Holds Bi Monthly Meeting

The county Board of Education met at the County Superintendent Strassell's office with trustees from all townships, Dale, and St Meinrad represented. They discussed school books reading circles instructor contracts and property care, adopted new reading circle titles and agriculture for grade eight, required teacher licenses and institute records, and planned bi monthly meetings with next on November 6.
