The first contingent of Spencer county’s 148 recruits for the national army was honored at Krueger’s Cafe in Rockport with a patriotic program. Attendees included L. N. In August the Pattie cows Alice and Bobbet tied for first and second in Warrick county cow testing. Hammond's Daisy and Glackman's Star followed, with Pattie's Bowie and Snyder and Hammond's White Sox also placing.
