Phillips Child Dies After Short Illness
Hazel Ellen Phillips died at Main Street after a two day cold and sore throat. Funeral services are planned Friday morning from the residence with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery conducted by Rev. W. D. Bell of this city. She is survived by her parents and three brothers Carol William and Lester. Tom Ellis has resigned as marshal of this city.

William T. Boyd obituary notes long life and family ties
William T. Boyd died last Tuesday at his Leis in Hafield. Funeral services were held at his residence with Rev. W. E. Bates of Evansville officiating. The obituary recalls a life born September 27, 1853 and departed August 31, 1929 aged 66 years 11 months 4 days. He leaves a widow, two daughters Mrs. Fis ie and Mrs Roy Hall and son Charles A. Boyd of Warpum Penn. A brother Dr. George A. Boyd of Colorado Springs and a sister Mrs Bettie Thompson of Thayer Mo survive. He farmed in pioneer days, educated in local schools, attended Oakland City and Merom Colleges, married Arvilla Beeler on October 10 1877, joined the Christian church in 1885, and was a faithful member and generous contributor.
