Fire destroys barn and tobacco crop north of straw board plant
A barn valued at 1000 dollars located just north of the straw board factory burned last Wednesday around nine o'clock. The fire’s origin is unknown. Insurance covered 50 dollars on the barn and 406 dollars on the tobacco crop. a separate uninsured loss included machinery. The tobacco belonged to Tom Cotton and the machinery to Mr Lieb. Net loss around 1000 dollars.
