Blue Front Grocery Burglarized in Sunday Heist
The Blue Front grocery store was robbed Sunday with about 400 dollars in cash and 60 to 70 dollars in checks taken. A safe was blown open by nitroglycerine as explosions heard nearby. Investigators traced suspects including Walter Edward Jackson, arrested in Shelbyville, Ind., with around 360 dollars in bills. Two back windows pried open allowed entry. a few checks were recovered or identified later.

A Halloween dance was given Friday evening at the Lincoln avenue home of W. W. Kellams. Miss Pauline Kigenmann assisted by Judith and Eloise Parker Claud ina Beeler Georgia Gibbs Pansy Vance Marion Swallow and Mary Pyle organized dancing games and luncheons. Punch flowed during the dances and decorations featured lighted pumpkin faces autumn foliage and flowers with black cats and witches.
