Mrs. Mary A. Zachritz died at her country home near Rockport on November 4 1907 after long illness including typhoid and paralysis. Born June 18 1841 near Cleves Ohio she married E H Zachritz January 3 1860 and had eight children five sons and two daughters survive. Her final struggle ended despite loving care as she could not rally from a lasting illness and paralysis.

Lee Mullen a Bighth grade teacher in the Cannelton schools was elected county superintendent of Perry County last Monday. He succeeds H. S. Moseby who remained in the post after trustees failed to elect a superintendent last June.

A national bank in this state failed years ago leaving 600000 of supposed assets. The receiver sold them for eleven dollars at public auction. Government examiners had cleared the assets, which could have backed asset currency under a pending congressional bill. The incident raises questions about trusting the money trust plan and the public's risk.
