Knights of Pythias District Meet Slated at Richland

The twentieth district Knights of Pythias gathering for Gibson Pike Dubois Spencer Warrick Posey and Vanderburg counties will be held at Richland in Spencer county on May 11. Winslow expects its share despite the unusual late date and travel considerations.

Evansville Womans Foreign Missionary Society Convention

The annual Evansville district Womans Foreign Missionary Society convention met at M B E church with 125 delegates and visitors attending dinners Friday. Mrs Curtisa, returning missionary from the South Seas, spoke as chief speaker, presiding by Mrs Asbury of Vincennes. Marguerite Roberts was named Little Light Bearer in Friday session.

City Council approves sidewalk protection ordinance

Meeting of Associated Banks of Rockport Oct 30 1907

The Associated Banks of Rockport Indiana met to decide how to pay depositors. A motion by Thomas K. E. Snyder and Thomas R. Hardy approved payments of 30 dollars per day per account with a 50 dollar per account cap, excluding payrolls for bona fide labor. W. T. Mason served as president and J. G. Rimstidt as secretary with bank presidents and cashiers named.

Concrete Pavement Contracts Issued By City Council

The common council let contracts for extensive concrete pavements on Seminary and Main streets to William T. Simpers at 16 1 6 to 16 2 3 cents per square foot and for sidewalks on Main and Lincoln streets to William P. Ekigenmann at 16 cents per square foot. Work must be finished within thirty days, weather permitting, with plans to extend concrete sidewalks citywide next season.

Rockport Lodge F. and A. M. will present the Master Mason degree next Monday evening at their hall. After the conferral on two candidates, the Eastern Star ladies will host a supper for Masonic members.

Fruit and Soil Special Train to Visit Indiana in November

Arrangements are made for a Horticultural and Soil Improvement special train on the Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern Railway through Indiana from November 19 to 22, 1907. The program is a joint effort by Purdue Experiment Station and the Indiana State Horticultural Society with one hour stops at major stations. C G Woodbury will lead horticultural work and Prof. Arthur Goss will direct soil topics, with lecturers supplied by the Experiment Station and the Society.
