Rev. J. H. Diehl of Trinity Lutheran preached the baccalaureate at the M E church for Rockport graduates, urging focus on the high calling of Christ. He urged daily progress, strong character, service to others, and building a lasting foundation beyond mere past achievements.
The Mt Zion Sunday school under Mrs Charles Ash decorates about forty five soldier and home guard graves at Mt Zion cemetery on Sunday May 28. Wm F Adams will give a memorial address at 10 30 a m at the church and then speak at Ebenezer. Attendees are urged to bring flowers and attend.

Assessment figures show Spencer County property value falling compared with the 910 totals. Personal property declines across all corporations except Harrison, Jackson, Grass, Clay townships and St MeinrRd. Real estate losses make up the deficit.

Real estate gains offset losses in personal property, but railroad and bank properties are not included. Countywide assessed value will exceed last year by about 100 thousand, with total likely surpassing eight million once banks and railroads are added.
The Vincennes area approved 360000 for three traction projects. The Vincennes and Interstate line across the Wabash at Bridgeport Illinois receives 90000. Vincennes North and South from Sullivan to Decker gets 105000. Vincennes Washington and Eastern also receives 105000. The North and South line will connect with existing traction at Sullivan and extend toward Terre Haute with a 19 mile gap to Patoka at Decker.
Articles filed in the County Recorders office reveal Spencer Construction and Equipment Company incorporated with $25 000 capital stock in 100 shares. Incorporators Ben F Huffman R S Crowder John G Rimstidt of Rockport E P Cox of Louisville Ky and H C Watkins of Owensboro Ky each hold fifty shares and serve as directors for the first year.
In a Sunday fair ground baseball game Boonville won 18 to 0 over Rockport after six innings as Rockport refused to continue. The Boonville lineup is not considered a match for Rockport's mate in strength, while Owensboro’s Athletics are slated to visit next Sunday and are described as fast ball players after defeating Tell City recently.

At Friday’s city council meeting a resolution was adopted to construct about one mile of cement sidewalks. A hearing for property owner complaints is set for Monday June 12 at 10 a.m. Dr. Eugene Sturm of Jasper visited the city Thursday on his way home from Evansville.
The Rockport high school held its 32nd commencement at the Auditorium on Tuesday May 23 with a large audience. Seventeen seniors in the class of 1911 received diplomas from Dr. J R Lang as Rev W B Farmer delivered the address The program featured songs under Miss Owsley and Miss Gold with music praised as an excellent addition to the schools. The graduates include Elsie Green Addie Haines C Morgan Halbrugh Lorena Hargis Ollie Hays Anna Hill Ellen Hopkins Mary Huff James Laird Victor Mohr Dorris Rue Werner Thadeus Snyder and Allen Young.
The April examination produced several successful teacher license recipients across levels. High school winners include E. M. Lenon, Jennie Clark, and Ethel Cooper. County primary recipient is Cora Ferguson. Common school names include Wesley Waters Ida Willison Sister Conrada Sister Rosa August Sarver Cora Wedeking Clyde Jones Myrtle Bender Alma Mann Swanee Cockriel Sister Colletta and Harold Kennedy. An examination is scheduled in Rockport on Saturday May 27.
