History Society seeks early county sketches Indiana

Auto Crash Injures Mrs Maas After Picnic Ride

Airs. Hazel Gauman Maas was thrown from a car driven by John Bretz on Sunday afternoon after a picnic trip from the knob. She suffered a fracture of the right elbow while several youths on the runabout, including Miss Amelia Bretz, spilled from the running board when the car struck a gate post. All others escaped injury.

Fire limited damage to Armstrong house in Walnut Lincoln blaze

A fire in the roof of the Armstrong house at Walnut and Lincoln streets caused only slight damage after Rockport firefighters arrived and intervened Saturday afternoon.

Reserve Act Saves Country From Ruin A War Finance Debate

Washington May 16 Senator King of Utah defended the Federal Reserve Act and allied currency laws, arguing they prevented national bankruptcy during war. He noted Republicans rarely attacked the act and warned that repealing it or reverting to prewar policy would have endangered the nation’s credit. He challenged Republicans to endorse the Fed Reserve in their Chicago platform.

At the home of the bride’s family the marriage of Miss Krueger of Rockport to Mr Kennedy of Clay township was solemnized by A L Bennett using the ring service. The bride is daughter of Mrs Edward Krueger. groom son of Mr and Mrs David Kennedy. They plan to reside in Rockport after a brief trip to Evansville.

Spencer circuit court adjourns after 30 cases disposed

The April term of the Spencer circuit court adjourned with thirty cases disposed, including thirteen divorces. Notable actions include Edith Cate obtaining a divorce from Harry J. Alumni Rockport High to Form Permanent Association

A meeting last Friday at the Washington building organized the Rockport High alumni into a permanent association. Officers elected include Miss Gear Wright '89 as president, Miss Nicises '09 vice president, Mrs. Alberta Hullman '99 secretary, Miss Lorena Hargis '11 treasurer, Mrs. Pauline Richards '13 corresponding secretary, and Miss Pet Enion '64 historian. The group will entertain the seniors at the high school building.

The Bi A C A group at the hi E church held a Tuesday meeting honoring old soldiers and their wives. Hoosiers Fall to Keen Hitters in Close 9 8 Game

The Hoosiers lost to Keen Hitters 9 to 8 in a tight contest last Sunday. Glackman pitched his first game of the year for Rockport, striking out 14. May 23 brings a trip to Owensboro with a stronger lineup and aims to avenge an 8 to 2 defeat. Battery for Rockport: Glackman and Ryan. Crescent Line trips to Owensboro run every two hours with a 12 42 departure.

Auto Tour Called Off by Rain Across Indiana

The Indiana University and Bloomington Chamber of Commerce auto tour to promote the university centennial set for the first week in June was canceled due to heavy rain. Plans to send cars into every county were abandoned because of the downpour.
