Probate notes from the Spencer circuit court show the James estate inherence tax set at 981.32 with 59,038.76 total estate value for tax purposes. Margaret Gold receives 46,208.89 value with 25,000 taxed at 14 and remaining at 22 percent. other heirs taxed at 14 percent.
A meeting of Rockport high school graduates was held at the college building Tuesday evening to arrange a reception for the 1915 class. Alberta Huffman was named chairman Nell Wiener secretary and Lorena Hargis treasurer. A permanent alumni association is being formed and another meeting will be held next Tuesday at Frank Kincaid's office urging all graduates to attend.
The will of Mary E Schmicker late of this county is on record with Clerk Woolfolk. After debts are settled the remaining estate will be divided equally among six children Emma Edelmaier Anna Fahr Gilbert Schmicker Katie Schmicker Cora Guth and Ralph Schmicker. Jacob Weller is named executor the will made August 1 1914 was witnessed by Wm Weller and Samuel Weller.
The Rockport Ferry company launched a new long boat christened The Elk. Designed by E M Rounds of Owensboro and built by George Farmer of Owensboro and Adolph Feldpausch of Evansville the craft measures thirty five feet long with seven foot wide tow head and ten feet wide midship. It seats sixty five and carries one hundred. Powered by a Clark four cylinder engine producing thirty two horsepower the vessel will reach ten mph. Completion was set for early June with white oak paneled cabin.
Judge Cox upholds a year old law making railroad companies liable for damages from engine sparks regardless of negligence. The decision shifts burden and will prompt stricter engine inspections, noting Indiana in 1914 saw 237 locomotive spark fires costing 87266 dollars in buildings and contents.

A miscellaneous shower was held Friday afternoon at Miss Fern Richey’s Washington Street home in honor of Mrs. Fred Pratt recent bride. Assisting Miss Richey was Miss Irene Garrett. After opening gifts, refreshments were served. About forty guests attended.
The union revival under the big tent runs daily with growing attendance. On next Sunday at 11 o clock Dr Shepherd will preach the memorial service, followed by a men’s service in the afternoon and regular preaching in the evening.
Willie Cameron suffered a partial amputation of the left middle finger while assisting James A. Gentry Jr. near Sand Ridge. He reportedly held a knife against a mowing machine with a stick when the blade slipped, severing the finger. Cameron had volunteered his services to Gentry.

Mr and Mrs Thomas Axton came back Tuesday night from San Francisco California after a three month stay at the exposition. Mr Axton served as custodian at the Indiana building during the visit and reports a pleasant and profitable stay.
