The Spencer County Medical Society met at the court house with about 20 physicians and wives. Dr J C Jolly spoke on medicine as a business, urging professional success requires financial success, and Dr A White urged physician energy for human betterment. The group adjourned to Hibbs restaurant for a three course dinner and speeches by Dr Lang and others.

Last week in Spencer circuit court trusteeships and estates advanced. Elton Martin’s current report as guardian of Beulah Martin approved showing 251.67 balance. Guardian removals included William H. Axton from minor heirs of Iaa L. Axton. Executors Maude Curry and James Houston ordered to distribute 250 to each Pratt, Prudie, Houston and Wm Avery as Arena Knight estate heirs. Avery authorized to fund a grave monument up to 150. Hugh J. Hale’s final report as administrator of Wm W. Ruby estate approved closing trust. John J. Brown resigned as guardian of Lycurgus Q. Small heirs for lack of funds. David L. Magee reported 1250 in inventory for Eva Gladys Jones. Charles C. Kincaid relieved from inventory filing as administrator of Wm Y. Kincaid estate. John P. Chrisney’s administration of John B. Chrisney estate continued with report.

R W May of Rockport visits Chicago on plans for a Seymour West Baden traction line. Backing from Seymour and towns along the route could raise about 200000 in subsidies to secure right of way and fund a 1001000 electric road with ballast bridges stations and rolling stock. Marriage Licenses and Divorces Logged for Year
During the year from May 1, 1968 to May 1909, 270 licenses were issued for 540 people. Of these, 66 had one prior marriage, 10 had two, and four had three. One couple divorced and remarried. Seventy‑nine marriages ended by death. Two ministers received licenses and were divorced from former spouses. In the same year, circuit court records show 34 divorce suits disposed of, 25 divorces granted, and 9 dismissed.
