City Council Hears Sidewalk Plans and Finances
The city council held a regular session led by Mayor Jacobs with Councilmen Mason Rimstidt and Sim pers present. Only the claims were approved as business. sewer and sidewalk topics were discussed but no action taken. A Friday recess was set to review the sidewalk proposal. The sidewalk committee is considering about twenty blocks of concrete walks across the city.

Boy Drowns In Lake Drain Near Catholic Cemetery
Louis Hawk aged 15 drowned Wednesday afternoon while swimming with friends in a deep branch of Lake Drain near the Catholic cemetery. Companion Dan Stocking attempted rescue, locating the body after about twenty minutes. An inquest ruled accidental drowning. The Rockport student was remembered as a good swimmer. Knights of Pythias events in Richland City drew 600 members. Kerr, a man from near Yelvington, Ky., was killed when struck by a wagon wheel near Rockport. he died at the scene and was buried at Newburg.

Fatal Log Wagon Accident Claims Young Worker
George Kerr, 22, was run over by a log wagon at Canada station last Saturday and killed instantly. He worked for Cecil Stilwell of this city and was seated on the front end of a saw log when the mishap occurred.
