More men called to colors from county for WWI service

Rockport High Class of Eighteen Holds Commencement Week Events

Mrs Emma D Scott Chewning widow of John Chewning died at home on 2nd Street at 1 35 a m Wednesday in her 63rd year after months of invalidism The funeral was held Thursday at the Christian church with Rev W A Sweeney and Rev L N Warble The remains were buried in Sunset Hill She was daughter of Ira and Julia Scott born May 1 1855 near Leavenworth Crawford County Her family moved to Iowa then returned to Leavenworth Later the Scotts settled near Huffman s Mill Perry County after her mother s death she married John Chewning December 25 1878
