A physician dentist argues that oral hygiene protects overall health and stresses early prophylaxis from age three to twenty one. He notes school inspections and free clinics, warns about dangers of bolting food, and urges tongue scraping to prevent germ-related illness.
The Burns cases set for trial Wednesday were continued to the September term. Defense attorneys cited Mr. Burns illness and nervous trouble with affidavits from Mr. Burns, Mrs. Burns, and Dr. Harry Howard of Oklahoma City, who described locomotor ataxia and travel hazards. Judge Roberts denied the continuance initially, but the affidavits led to the cases being postponed to the next term.
Residents along Washington Street including George Schreiner Mrs E F Reichley Simon Limberger and Charles Wilbern build cement pavements without city orders. Limberger also extends a cement walk on Fifth Street. The lax city stance prompts further private street improvements as officials avoid suggesting curb upgrades.
George W Southwood aged 56 died Tuesday morning at his home two miles north of Lake Mill after months of heart trouble. Survived by wife and seven children. Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday morning and the remains laid to rest at Heilman Cemetery in Warrick County. He was a member of the Rockport Ben Hur court.
The Midway team will be invited to perform the work in the Rockport Encampment No 72 lodge room Friday night. This team is renowned for executing the work in excellent form.
The County Sunday School Convention held at Midway on April 28 faced rain reducing turnout. Prof. R A Ogg highlighted organized Sunday school work, teacher training, and the international association’s role. Officers elected include Dr H Q White president and Laura Bergman secretary treasurer.

Mr and Mrs Allen Ellis celebrated their birthdays last Sunday May 7 at their home in Stanley Kentucky. County treasurers in Indiana collected 39,828,964.85 for all purposes in 1910, an increase of 2,415,857.23 from 1909. The total includes state, county, township, city taxes, and levies collected by treasurers, but excludes liquor licenses and other fees. It is the first known compilation of total tax collections for the state.
James B Richardson of Lucé township was elected a director of the Old Rockport bank to fill the vacancy created by the death of D L Morgan. Directors will select a president at the meeting on the first Monday in June.
Judge R E Roberts named special judge by Judge Ridley to hear a case in Harrison circuit court seeking to break the will of Charles Marchey. The issues will be closed at the present term of court.

Louis Eigenmann estate administration continued. drainage, forgery, and other matters continued or set for later terms.
Mary Huntzinger was granted a divorce from Joseph Huntzinger and her maiden name of Mary Hitner was restored. The suit of W. M. Smith et al against John McDaniel et al to recover on account and to set aside deed was dismissed, costs were paid.

Since last Sunday cars run hourly between Rockport and Grandview instead of every other hour. Beginning next Sunday car service from Grandview to Mt. Vernon will be inaugurated.
John P. Ekigenmann walked into an open cellar in a business house in Evansville on Wednesday and fell six feet. His head struck a step and he suffers scalp wounds and other bruises. He attended his business Thursday morning.
Owensboro defeated Rockport 12 to 3 in a Wednesday afternoon baseball game. Glackman and Hopkins were Rockport pitchers, with Hopkins allowing eight of the visitors' runs. Four Rockport players struck out. A second game is slated in Owensboro next Saturday.
School children are invited to take part in the decoration day exercises. A flag will be given to each participant.
