Runaway Horse and buggy wreck on 3rd Street
A horse owned by Harrie Therber broke its hitch rein and overturned a buggy on Monday afternoon on 3rd Street near the courthouse square. The driven horse and buggy chased southward past rigged wagons, striking a mail wagon wheel and wrecking Therber's buggy near Mackey town. The horse suffered a severe leg cut. Therber had just sold the horse and was delivering it when it escaped.
