County Agent Seeks Forest Land for Tax Exemption Study
Ten requests for inspection of forest land to qualify for partial tax exemption were sent to the State Forester. Lands not pastured by livestock may be classified as forest lands and appraised at one dollar per acre. July or August visits to county tracts will assess eligibility and advise on classification procedures. Interested landowners should submit names and land descriptions. Deam offers services at no cost. Evansville Inter-State Fair set for July 8-9 at Dade Park with liberal premiums to attract livestock and farm product entries. Phillip Yeager Dies After Four Years Paralysis
Phillip Yeager aged 85 died last Sunday morning at his home on Eight Streets after a four year paralysis. Born in Germany he came to the United States as a young man and lived on a farm west of Rockport before moving to town six years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St Bernard's Church followed by burial in the Catholic cemetery.
