The country awaits President Wilsons first message to Congress and outlines a tariff plan. The building, owned by Mrs. Caroline Eigenmann and leased by O M Iglehart, faced substantial damage with insurance only part of the loss.
A second wind storm early last Friday caused minor damage in Rockport. Signs were blown from their fastenings, a tree fell in the courthouse yard, other trees were uprooted, and portions of tin roofing were blown off the Hoagland & Hardy warehouse and the Veranda hotel.
Edward Spiehler died last Thursday night at his home near Pueblo from pneumonia after a nine day illness. Born in Switzerland he was 68. Survived by a wife Miss Kellie Hamilton and five children. Funeral service was held at Oak Grove Church Saturday morning, burial in nearby cemetery, Rev. J. C. Dyer officiated. Known for honesty and devotion to family, he was regarded as one of God's noblest works An Honest Man.
Robert H. Johnson of Evansville and Miss Alice Kennedy of Grandview were married by Rev. S Le Todd at the United Brethren parsonage. The couple, who plan to visit Orleans, Indiana, after the ceremony, depart for Mr Johnson's Evansville home where he works as a stock dealer.
