Spencer county loses one of its best citizens
George E. Mattingley and his family moved to Paducah Kentucky last week taking charge of a 500 acre farm. They plan 200 acres sunflowers and 300 acres corn this season. Ray Mattingley, a pioneer sunflower farmer, invented a field thrash machine now in use. The Mattingleys have long been Luce township leaders since 1838.

Insanity Inquest and Local Notices From Buffaloville
An insanity inquest was held for Abraham L Crawford before Squire D J Smith with Drs Baker and Crafton examining. Application will be made for his admittance to Woodmere Hospital. Crawford was adjusted insane in 1904 and discharged as cured in September. In February last year he suffered a stroke and has been allegedly insane since. At the annual sale of lands mortgaged to state for school funds, a 40 acre tract in Jackson township sold to Judge Gough of Boonville for 258.35. Birth announced for George and Mrs Smith of Metropolis Illinois on Saturday March 21. Mrs Smith was Miss Ruth Morgenthaler. Miss Eutha Kopp of Depauw University home for spring vacation.
