Dale Woman Anna Meyers Dies After Short Illness
Mrs. Anna Meyers of Dale died at her daughter Mrs. Will Adams home after a brief illness. She was 67, survived by two daughters and two sons in Kansas. Funeral services were held at the Adams home and Presbyterian church in Dale, with Rev. J. H. Diehl officiating, burial in Dale cemetery. Wife of the late Rev. Isaac Meyers.

Miss Sallie DeBruler Dies After Illness and Fracture
Miss Sallie DeBruler died at her sister Mrs. Garlinghouse home on Elm Street after several months illness and a prior fractured limb. Funeral services were held at the residence, with Rev. J. J. Robinette officiating, and interment at Sunset Hill cemetery. She was born December 18 1848 at Rockport and lived in the county all her life, with survivors including her sister, brother Clarence R. DeBruler of Oklahoma City, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Rockport Booster Club Plans Big 4th of July Celebration
With the near approach of July 4 the Booster club at Rockport plans a large celebration at the fair ground. A seventeen piece brass band will perform and patriotic speeches are planned. Two horse races and multiple pacing events, three motorcycle races, a boys bicycle race, and extensive entertainments are scheduled. The band will also play in town in the morning and again on the court house square at night.

Former Grandview Citizens Die in California Dispatch
C E Mason of Grandview received word from Ukiah California that Lemuel E Silverthorn died last Saturday and later learned his wife Mrs Silverthorn had died. They lived in Grandview until moving to California five years ago. Lemuel was a Masonic lodge member and Mrs Silverthorn belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. They were about 68. Stella Fisher of Indianapolis arrived to spend the summer with Fred Walker and family.

Severe storm scourges Spencer County damaging farm structures
A fierce electrical storm swept Rockport and surrounding areas Saturday evening with strong winds and lightning. In Richland City barns on William Stevenson’s farm collapsed, a tenant’s horse died, the tobacco factory addition at Richland City was demolished, and other barns and fruit trees were damaged. Wheat shocks were blown down countywide, with the worst impact in the southwest. Earlier Friday wind wrecked a barn on Conrad Kehrer’s river bottom farm, killing a tenant’s horse.
