Arrests After Prohibition Liquor Discovery on River Road
Moley Myers of Huntingburg and Sam Allen were arrested on Owensboro Road near the ferry by Sheriff Chapman and City Marshal Poole on a suspected violation of the prohibition law. About 40 gallons of liquor were found in Myers’s car. Myers escaped into the brush but officers recovered the car and whiskey. Allen claimed no knowledge of the contents. Myers, a former saloon keeper, remains at large as of press time.

Officers were elected and installed, a steamboat ride on the Ohio River was enjoyed, and a musical program closed the session.
