Mr and Mrs James Artman departed earlier in the week for a tour to Niagara Falls. The trip marks a routine departure with plans to visit the famous site and surrounding areas.
Ernest Baker a colored boy drowned in the Ohio River above the city last Sunday evening while swimming with two or three companions near the brick factory. His body was found Tuesday morning five miles below the city after initial delays from the other boys who witnessed the event.

A double header will be played Sunday afternoon at the fair ground diamond. The first game with Maceo is set for 2:00 PM and the second with Jasper for 4:00 PM. Both teams are strong and good games are expected. On Monday July 5 Rockport faces Jasper Reds at 3:15 PM. Afterward all ball games will start at 3:15 PM.
Mrs Ida Sexton wife of Perry Sexton resident of this city died Tuesday evening after stomach and heart trouble at age forty. She leaves a husband mother and one half brother T J McCollum of Hopkinsville Ky. Funeral held Wednesday afternoon at Mt Ziom church with Rev D P McCoy officiating.
Mrs. L W Fisher mother of Mrs Fred Walker of this city died at her Indianapolis home last Sunday at age seventy two. Funeral service was held at Greencastle Indiana on Tuesday afternoon. She was a familiar visitor in Rockport and leaves three sons and three daughters.
