Mrs Ed Markland Dies After Gall Stone Operation
Mrs Ed Markland died Thursday morning at Gilberts sanitarium Evansville from gall stones surgery. Her remains were brought to Walnut street home of Thomas J Markland. She traveled with two daughters Gladys and Mary from St. Louis for the summer. husband Mr. Markland was with her at the bedside. Funeral plans not yet set.

Rev J C Wyatt Injured In Owensboro Bicycle Crash
Reverend J C Wyatt pastor of Hall Street Baptist Owensboro was thrown from his bicycle after a collision with an automobile Tuesday. He suffered a sprained arm and a gash to his right leg but recovered enough to ride home after a rest. Egmond Butscher and Miss Viola Sehrav obtained a marriage license Wednesday and wed in Evansville. Both are noted as local residents.

City council approves sewer plan change in Washington Street
In a special meeting the city council ordered the sewer outlet on Washington Street rebuilt in brick instead of a conept. The mayor was asked to flush gutters and sewers and apply lime to improve sanitary conditions. A contract bid notice will be issued soon.

Rockport Fair to Feature Bray’s Dog and Pony Show and Free Attractions
The Rockport fair next month will offer Bray's dog and pony show with 14 dogs four ponies two monkeys and three men plus daily balloon ascensions and parachute leaps. Holmes Wild West will perform free exhibitions daily in front of the grand stand. The Third Regiment Military Band of Owensboro Kentucky directed by Prof Daniel and two other brass bands will provide music.
