Isaac G Hall died July 6 at his home in Vordon California at seventy nine. Born to Shadrack Hall once Spencer county sheriff he came west in 1851 driving a wagon and later mined before buying a Sacramento River ranch where he lived until his death. He never married and is survived by relatives including D L Morgan of this city. His remains lie in Sacramento city cemetery.

County Commencement Plans Set for August 10 at Chrisney
Trustees and teachers met at the County Superintendent's office on July 18 1907 to organize the County Commencement to be held in Chrisney on August 10. A county banner and motto were chosen with the motto We aim higher. Each township will carry class colors with its name printed. Graduates will meet the 10:30 train and march to the meeting site. Committee members F W Dodd J W Atkinson Robert Widmer and U S Hartley were chosen to arrange the program and will reconvene July 27 at 10 a m.

Ben Hur Lodge Members Visit Owensboro for Degrees
About 25 Ben Hur lodge members from the city traveled to Owensboro on a chartered gasoline launch Messenger for the evening. They conferred degrees on four candidates and were hosted at a social banquet by the Owensboro lodge before returning late at night. Members attending included Mr. and Mrs. John W. Crooks, James G. Taylor, L. W. Savage, and others. The local Ben Hur court numbers about 150 members.
Riddle Postal Mystery Travels From Seattle to Rockport
A Seattle July 8 letter to Rockport used minimal address clues with only the final letter A of Indianap olis visible. The envelope bore pen drawn bank bill part ride four rock a bottle of Best port wine and an Indian head with a following A. Will Partridge received it July 13 after a cross country journey.

Princeton Beats Rockport 7–5 in Amateur Baseball

Old Citizen John Beeler Dies Near Town
John Beeler died at his home three miles west of town on Saturday morning after a long illness from rheumatism and a shoulder abscess. A native of Ohio born November 1825 he was past 81. The funeral was held Sunday at Mtiction with services by Rev. J. T. Jacobs.

Residence of John A Young Destroyed by Fire
Fire destroyed the residence of John A Young two miles southwest of town early Sunday, burning most clothing and household goods. Hazel Hale woke the family and raised the alarm before they escaped. Loss estimated at 1000 to 1200 dollars with 650 dollars insured. The family now stays with Ed Young.

City Council Advances Main Street Paving Plan
In a regular session the council revised city ordinances and approved a declaratory resolution for concrete pavements on Main Street from 6th to 5th, five feet wide. An ordinance regulating sanitary sewer connections and tapping charges for nonassessed parties was approved along with a resolution concerning trespass on Main Street from 5th to 9th, ordering property removal.

Body of Tell City Boy Recovered From Ohio River
The body of Curt Muelchi fifteen was recovered Sunday morning near Lieb and Artman’s derrick boat at the upper landing after drowning Friday while bathing in the Ohio river. Coroner Weiss identified the body by scars and description. Relatives who had authority were present and the body was moved to Tell City for burial with Barney Hudson who found the body likely to receive a 25 dollar reward.

Storm Damages Farm Barns In Lake Mill Area

Birds Killed by Lightning Strike in Parker Yard
