Edley Brown aged 79 fell at his Main street home injuring his left hip and has been paralyzed since Civil War wounds. Carolina Eigenmann, 77, fell at her Main street home injuring her head requiring ten stitches. The incidents occurred between the Eigenmann and Spain residences. Brown is resting as expected.
Mrs J Ed Guenther of Owensboro announces the marriage of her daughter Regina to Walter Ford Davis at 5 30 pm Tuesday June 19 at Highland Presbyterian Church Louisville Ky Rev Peter Plume officiated The couple will reside in Owensboro Mr Davis works at National Deposit Bank Mrs Davis a University of Illinois graduate and Randolph Macon College student is popular in social circles. her mother Miss Mary Jacobs of Rockport is noted as a relative who has visited Rockport communities.
Report notes Miss Mary Kennedy is quite ill with tonsillitis at her home just west of the fair grounds, indicating a regional health concern affecting residents in the area.
The Huff Township Farmers Association announces a big annual picnic to be held Saturday August 11 at Baurer's grove in Evanston. Community members are invited to enjoy food, games, and social gathering in the park setting.
Dr. J. R. Lang of Evansville, in very poor health, traveled to Chicago on Monday for treatment. He was accompanied by his son, Dr. Shirley GC. Lang.
Two well known county women Mrs. John Wroe of Chrisney and Mrs. Marietta Raaf of Newtonville have died, with death summons answering.
Mrs. Thebe Hurst Wroe, 69, of Newtonville died at home after ten days with gall stones. Survived by husband and six children. Funeral at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Lt. M. McCoy. Also Mrs. Marietta Raaf, 74, died at Earl Park, Indiana, with services at New Hope Church led by Rev. E. M. McCoy. Burial in New Hope cemetery. she leaves a daughter Alta Dennison and two sons Will and John Raaf.
Mrs. M. Weil arrived home last Saturday after visiting her daughter Mrs. Isaac Born in Indianapolis and her granddaughter Mrs. Herbert Salas at a summer cottage in Atlantic City.
Mrs C P M Thurman and her sons Floyd and Arthur with Mrs Georgia Eigenmann left Tuesday on a motor trip to Centralia Illinois to visit C H Burkhart's family. They were joined by Roy Welch of Centralia who came to attend the funeral of John M Fox.
Martin Boehm of Evansville was in the city for several days this week visiting local residents and taking in area sights.
Mrs P J Bretz spent the week in Chrisney with her daughter Mrs Ferdinand Kratz.
Mrs. Frank Kincaid and her children Frank Jr and Mrs Basil Miller of Decatur Illinois are visiting Mrs Louis Wilkinson and other relatives in the area.
Miss Garnett Brown came home last Friday after attending summer school in Danville.
The park along the river side looking south from Main Street will be formally opened on Thursday July 26. Program of the opening will be announced next week.
Fred Sherbusch of Indiana polis came Wednesday to spend the remainder of the week with Rockport friends.

A Ford touring car driven by J. E. Johnson of Grandview went over an embankment on Silverdale road at a bend near Fred Atkinson’s home last Sunday night. Johnson and passenger Charles Turner escaped injury.
Court house items show Henry and Warnke bound to the September term of the circuit court with a damage suit filed by Bert Thompson.

Bert Thompson sues for oil lease possession near Gentryville, seeking injunction and damages. Joseph A. Brown named receiver in multiple causes, and Esther Wohler joins Rockport Library Board fill in term.
The Jackson township schools name appointments for the next year led by Prof. A. H Maxam as Superintendent of School and Rural. Dist. I with Miss Mary NabhLeh in Dist. No.2 and Miss Nellie Long and Miss Ruth Bender in Dist. No.3. C. D. Kirk assists, Mrs. Lucile Kirk handles music and domestic science, O.L. Perry is principal for 7th and 5th grades, Grace Thurman for 5th and 6th, Ruth Hicks for 4th, and Belle Walker as primary. The board reserves the right to make changes for the benefit of schools.
Mrs. Fleenor BAuman and their two children Lois and Roy return home after a three week visit with Mr and Mrs George Scheiner in Evansville.
Miss Lucille Richards returned home last Sunday after a visit in Evansville with the family. She was accompanied home by Miss Julia Mason Lang.
W W Kellams traveled home from Nickerson Kansas after attending the funeral of his brother J C Kellams. He was accompanied by his granddaughter Mary Sue Kellams of Kansas City Missouri.
Mrs C C Ashcraft entertained three tables of players on Elm Street for a bridge party Saturday evening. Guests included Mrs A P Powers of St Marys West Virginia and Mrs Ed Craig of Olive Springs Tennessee. Attending were Mesdames Wiener Payne Baum Spain Huffman Atchison Sherber Brown Stevenson. A salad luncheon complemented the game.
More than 250 people attended union church services last Sunday evening on the college campus. Seating overflow forced plans to increase capacity for next Sunday. Rev C E Koertze of Evangelical church preached, with Mrs. Charles Salm singing. Services are at 7 30 every Sunday with a sermon and special music, preacher announced beforehand.
County agent notes the second brood of codling moth or apple worm will issue about July 1. Orchardists should spray by those dates to get best results. Because of abundant pests, a second spray for the second brood should be made two weeks later.
A livestock judging contest will be held at the county fair this year for youths aged 15 to 19. Three winners receive a trip to the state fair to represent Spencer County and compete for individual and team prizes. State fair premiums are increased this year. interested participants should notify the county agent. Community schools offering three lessons will prepare contestants.
